Many of my clients don’t realize they’ve experienced Childhood emotional abuse and neglect. They feel because they weren’t “physically abused” that their childhoods were ok. But when we understand the brain, the nervous system, and our attachment system, and how that is profoundly shaped by the quality (or lack of) caregiving it can bring a lot of things they couldn’t explain before into perspective.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The good news is that our brains and Nervous system. are neuroplastic meaning we are always making new connections, new neural pathways and can help these new connections be wired for connection, safety, and subsequent healthy stress response and relationships.
